The People's National Party's Maxine Henry-Wilson (South East St Andrew) and Lenworth Blake (South East St Elizabeth) both retained their seats at the end of magisterial recounts.
In the official count, after the October 16 general elections, Henry-Wilson had received 4,951 votes to 4,103 for Phillip Henriques of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
But at the end of yesterday's magisterial recount at the Sutton Street Resident Magistrate's Court in downtown Kingston, Henry-Wilson ended with 4,963 votes to Henriques' 4,095. The National Democratic Movement/National Jamaica Alliance (NDM/NJA) candidate, Peter Townsend got 118 votes.
Blake was also declared winner of the October 16 poll over his JLP opponent Franklyn Witter at the completion of the magisterial recount at the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court.
